Protus Sponsors Canadian Cancer Society
2009 marks company's fifth year of supporting its employees' "charity of choice"

Ottawa (March 27, 2009) - Protus, a leading provider of web-based communications tools (including MyFax, my1voice and Campaigner) designed for small-to-medium businesses (SMB) and enterprise organizations, today announced the company will again sponsor the Cancer Society Relay For Life this year as the Event Sponsor for the Ottawa-Nepean location. This is the fifth consecutive year Protus and its employees have supported and participated in the Relay For Life fundraiser event, and its first as Event Sponsor.

Protus is dedicated to the communities where its employees live and work and strives to be a good corporate neighbour by taking its commitment to social responsibility into the community. Its employees first adopted the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life as Protus' "charity of choice" in 2005. Many also participate in the annual relay, this year to be held June 12-13 at the Nepean Sportsplex in Ottawa. In addition to sponsoring the event, Protus employees raise funds and awareness of the initiative through a number of Company internal activities including Friday bagel sales, raffles and other fundraising activities.

Relay For Life is a celebration of survival, a tribute to the lives of loved ones and an opportunity to fight back in the battle against cancer. Teams of 10 take turns running, walking or strolling around the track in this non-competitive 12-hour relay. Taking part in this heart-warming event creates a strong community of people striving to reach a common goal - to beat cancer. The Canadian Cancer Society is the largest charitable funder of cancer research in Canada. The funds raised by Relay For Life are used to fund life- saving research, to provide information on cancer prevention and to offer support services to those living with cancer.

"Relay For Life is a cause that is very close to the hearts of our employees," said Joseph Nour, CEO of Protus. "Their level of personal commitment and involvement is what makes it so worthwhile for us as a company. Nearly everyone has been touched by the dread of cancer in one way or another. These stories of survivors and their families living with this disease is what inspires us to continue to support our community in the Relay For Life."
